POPPY'S ORIGINAL ARTWORK
Paintings that celebrate nature's elegant fluidity and the interconnectedness of Creation
Above: Dreaming the Wild Dance, acrylic on canvas and
Below: I Love You but it's Time to Leave, acrylic and pencil on canvas 60x60cm
Below: They Sleep with Seeds, acrylic and pencil on canvas
Below: Sovereignty of the Land, acrylic on canvas
This 'Sovereignty' painting is a prayer to Wild Wiltshire, a land under threat from 'big agriculture' and agrochemicals. It acknowledges the creatures that have lived and died free there until this form of farming became the norm and made life so much harder. These beings are marginalizes by humanity and have lost their sovereignty. I wish for them to have it returned to them so that they can live untamed, without fear of being shot, poisoned, starved or run down. May humanity give them the honour due to equals in the dance of life. May all species live as nature intended, with clean water, wholesome food and fresh air....for all our relations.
Below are two versions of Rushing By. The above is the original, the second is a new version which is more 'realistic' and pleasing to the eye yet retains its original energy and seamless flow.
Re-working an image is not something to be undertaken lightly, maybe not even advisable. Its a risk that the original style, inspiration and verve will be lost in the studied reinterpretation. Hopefully that hasn't happened with Rushing By version two.
Above: Midwinter Broken Heart - not the most realistic but suggesting the colours of winter
Below: Singing Seed original version...
...and Singing Seed reworked version (above)
Below: New version of Last Dance of Autumn.
'Move On Fast'...a large painting or 'wild icon' to be focused on for positive change. It depicts our journey through levels of illusion and superficial consensus reality to the deeper understanding and profound compassion at the green heart of being. The painting is filled with the energies needed to move our journey forward if we can let go and focus on a finer way of being. If we ask our unseen helpers - and our Infinitely Conscious Self - for the best possible outcome we will receive support and guidance, taking us gently but firmly to where we should be and to what we should be doing.
And doing it, as always...for the Good of the All.
Portrait in honour of the wonderful Nick Ridge who passed from this reality in 2013 and was such a loss to this world. Please support Dorset Wildlife Rescue, his and his wife Sandi's amazing rehabilitation work for our creature-kin. May this compassionate soul's energy resonate for many genetrations to come...go well, dear Nick.

Poppy's Other Original Work
Poppy used to be a leather jacket artist (see below). Poppy hasn't worn or bought leather for many years now - as a vegan wearing our creature-kin is now an anathema to her. But back then she still painted leather despite being vegetarian since she was 14 - she still hadn't fully accepted how abhorrent it was to utilise the skin of her fellow beings without their consent.
Above: Born to be worn...left is Poppy's first leather jacket for Gypsy Moon Design
Below: The central Medusa-type jacket was created for Neil Murray, then of BLACK SABBATH. The first one (right) Poppy painted for him got stuck to a radiator! The first Black Sabbath promo jacket for the album 'TYR'...it eventually sold for charity.
And below are some more of her painted jackets from the Nineteen Eighties and early Nineties
These images were taken long before digital cameras but give the general idea!
Poppy became very ill after using the chemical dyes she was given to work on jackets so the work stopped.

Above: One of Poppy's intrictae paintings which was completed whilst she was at University and taking over six months. This piece was inspired by Albinoni's Adagio, Highgate Cemetery and the Symbolists.. It was centred around a piece of prose written by Poppy
"SEDUCE RIPE CRESCENT, SILVER BLOATED WITH SHADOW,
SLIDE, FAT WITH SILENCE, RIDE UPON THE QUIET WAVE,
ILLUSIONARY, VISIONARY, BAREFOOT GLIDE PALE CANDLE,
WIDDERSHINS YOU ALONE, O, GREEDY MOON IN A VELVET PLACE..."

Above: Lord and Lady
